A lot can happen in two weeks.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for all of your kind words and congratulations! The past two weeks have been a lot of fun for Aaron and I, and this experience wouldn't be the same without the amazing friends and family we have to share it with.

As though we didn't already have enough going on, Aaron and I actually made an offer on a house the same weekend we got engaged. We'd been keeping an eye on some short sale homes in the area and ended up falling in love with a house sooner than we'd anticipated. The house is located in the downtown area of one of our favorite cities and is the perfect starter house. Since the home is a short sale it could take several months for us to hear back from the mortgage company, which works out well because we have nothing but time. So now we wait!

In wedding planning news, we've finalized a wedding date and a venue! I discovered that if we wanted to get married next year we'd have to move quickly as there were very few Saturdays available for 2012. We got lucky and found a date next September at one of my favorite local venues, Indian Springs Metro Park. It's located in the middle of 2,215 acres of natural wildlife and the building is entirely eco-friendly. I love that it's not your average banquet hall and that we'll get to incorporate the great outdoors for our wedding. It's absolutely perfect.

My friend and fellow blogger Niki was married at this same location back in August, and she actually just posted a bunch of photos from her big day. Hop on over to her post if you'd like to see more of what the inside of our venue will look like. Niki made an absolutely stunning bride and her wedding was filled with amazing DIY details.

Oh, and did I mention that I was her wedding photographer? Hehe.
Let me know what you think!

Lauryn! What a pretty venue, and your pictures look fantastic! I'm really impressed :) I'm so excited for you guys! I hope you get the house you want! I remember all of the waiting on short sales and what not and for us it sort of sucked because we had a time frame we needed it by. Oye, good luck :)

Congratulations on your engagement! I hope you will have a happy life together. Marriage is a wonderful blessing. My husband and I have been married almost 14 years and I've loved every minute of it (even the days he drives me crazy). The best advice I can give about a happy marriage is this: Always remember that you are both flawed humans and you will get on each other nerves from time to time. Also, if something is bugging you, stop and think about it for a minute. Is the world going to end because of it? Is it really a problem, or just an annoyance? If its just an annoyance, let it go.

I can't wait to see your wedding photos! I know you'll be a beautiful bride.
