Snippets from a happy week.

It's been a good week. I can feel Fall in the air, which means that cozy sweaters and scarves are starting to make their annual appearance. It also means that Erica and I are filling our Pinterest boards with delicious recipes and fall decor that we want to try to make at the condo.

Aaron has officially confirmed with his current employer that he will not be taking the job in Tennessee. They still hadn't made a formal offer and seemed to be perfectly content to keep him on his toes so he let them know they could find someone else to take the position. He's still keeping an eye out for other positions within and outside of his current company, so who knows what the future has in store. In the mean time I get to keep him all to myself and I'm pretty happy about that.

On Tuesday I had taken a personal day for a photography session and my client ended up cancelling days before. Nevermind the fact that I had taken the day off of work and paid money for props and backdrops. It's my own fault for not taking a deposit for portrait sessions, so I've definitely learned my lesson.

I decided to turn that disappointment into an amazing day off. I was only slightly productive (I can't not be productive on a day off), and I was able to fit in some relaxation and some episodes of How I Met Your Mother.

That evening I treated Aaron to a movie of his choice, and [surprise, surprise] he chose Warrior. It's about a Marine who comes home to all sorts of family drama and ends up fighting his own brother in a worldwide MMA championship. Right up my alley. Er, not usually.

It didn't sound like something that would appeal to me, but it was really a fantastic movie. Believe it or not there was a tear rolling down my cheek during the last ten minutes. If you don't think two tattoed men fighting each other in a cage will make you cry, I challenge you to watch this movie. Good stuff.

My week got even better on Wednesday when my Erin Condren Life Planner arrived. I'm in love!

Before the days of smart phones I used to love having a planner with me at all times to keep my schedules and To Do lists organized. While I love the calendar in my iPhone, I'm too much of a visual person to rely on it to stay organized. I prefer to be able to see all of the days of the week in order and to keep things colorful and in full view. Plus this planner is just darn adorable.

Speaking of making plans, on Friday afternoon Aaron and I are heading a little ways up north to go camping for the weekend. We have a lot of packing to do tonight, but I'm excited to have a little outdoor adventure.

What are some happy things going on with you this week?

I'm glad Aaron's not moving far away! And that you got to take a little break, even if it wasn't planned.

Enjoy the oncoming autumn! I'm still reading often, but have little time to write, Lauryn. I'm sorry! Once school settles and I'm into a routine, I'll comment more regularly, I promise!

Have fun camping.

Aw, that's awesome that he'll be staying close to you!
Long distance stinks... having him all to yourself is much better :)
Looks like you guys are going to have an awesome weekend... nothing much going on here (just what I am looking forward to!)
