Bailey girl.

Friday, February 5, 2010

This afternoon our family gathered on the floor of a tiny veterinary office and said goodbye to our sweet Bailey. There was no doubt in any of our minds that it was time to ease her suffering, but it was incredibly difficult to let her go.

I still can't believe that I'll never get to kiss her soft little nose or pet her velvety ears again. That I'll never hear her collar jingling as she makes her way to the door to greet us. She gave us her sweet companionship for almost 18 years, and I can only hope that she enjoyed that time as much as we did.

We love you so much Pookabee, and we already miss you more than words can say.

Lauren, we're going through the same thing. My dog had to be put to sleep yesterday :(

Lauryn, I don't mind telling you my eyes are tearing up because I've been through this a few times with our cats. Bailey wasn't just a dog, I'm sure she was as much a part of your family as anyone else. But you know you did the right thing, and that counts for so much. I hope you and your family are doing okay, you'll all be in my thoughts this weekend.

Oh dear, Lauryn, how sad... It must have been so hard to say good-bye, but how lucky for Bailey to have lived such a good long life, and to be surrounded by the people who loved her when it was time to go.

Lauryn, I am so sorry. Losing a family pet is so incredibly hard as they really are a member of the family. So glad she gave you guys so many years of companionship. What a beautiful dog and just remember all dogs go to heaven :)

I can so much relate... Bailey has crossed the rainbow bridge. She is playing with my Sparky now. xoxo

Lauryn, I am so sorry!!

This hurts so much. It's like losing more than a person, like losing a soul mate.

I'll be praying for your family.
